Paper Export Logistics from Turkey | Shipment Coordination for Global Buyers

How We Ship

TurkPaper coordinates export shipment of tissue jumbo rolls, finished consumer tissue products, kraft paper, and packaging paper from Turkish mills to buyers in Europe, North America, the Gulf, Africa, and global markets. Shipments move FCL and LCL from Turkey's primary export ports. Port selection is based on production location, vessel schedule, and destination to minimise transit time and landed cost.

Freight cost estimates and Incoterms are confirmed alongside product pricing at quotation stage. Buyers receive a complete shipment plan before order confirmation.

Export Ports and Transit Times

TurkPaper ships from three primary Turkish ports depending on production origin and destination market.

Mersin Port on the Mediterranean coast is the primary gateway for high-volume exports to the US, Gulf region, and Middle East. Transit to the US East Coast runs approximately 18 to 22 days. Transit to Gulf destinations runs approximately 7 to 10 days. Izmir Port on the Aegean is the primary hub for Europe-bound shipments. Transit to Northern Europe runs approximately 7 to 12 days by sea. Road freight to Central and Eastern Europe is available with transit windows of 3 to 6 days. Istanbul Ambarlı Port serves both EU and transatlantic routes and is used for consolidated shipments and flexible routing when vessel availability or scheduling requires an alternative gateway.

Container Loading and Optimisation

Paper and tissue products are loaded using optimised configurations to maximise container utilisation and protect product integrity during transit. Jumbo rolls are loaded vertically or horizontally depending on reel diameter and container type, with blocking and bracing to prevent movement. Finished tissue products in carton format are palletised to standard export pallet dimensions and stretch-wrapped for moisture protection.

FCL loading in 20-foot and 40-foot containers is standard for bulk programs. LCL consolidation is available for buyers with smaller initial volumes or for mixed-category shipments combining tissue and kraft paper. Container weights are managed within vessel and port limits for the destination market.

Incoterms and Delivery Options

TurkPaper supplies on FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP, and DDP terms depending on buyer preference and destination market. FOB is standard for buyers with established freight programs. CIF and CFR are available for buyers requiring freight and insurance coordination from the Turkish port. DAP and DDP are available for EU buyers requiring delivery to a named facility with customs clearance handled by TurkPaper.

For DDP programs into the EU, Turkey's Customs Union status removes import duty on qualifying paper and tissue products at the EU border. A.TR movement certificates are prepared for all EU-bound shipments to confirm Customs Union eligibility.

Export Documentation

Standard export documentation prepared for every shipment includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and A.TR movement certificate for EU-bound cargo. Mill test reports and certificates of conformity are included as part of the product documentation package.

For buyers requiring phytosanitary certificates, fumigation certificates, or specific customs documentation for their destination market, requirements should be confirmed at inquiry stage. All documentation is prepared in English as standard. Additional language versions are available on request.

Supply Chain Planning for Bulk Buyers

TurkPaper works with buyers on forward shipment planning for annual volume programs. Buyers committing to quarterly or annual volumes benefit from production slot allocation, consistent pricing basis, and scheduled shipment windows that reduce inventory risk and improve stock planning at the destination.

For converting operations running continuous production, we coordinate shipment schedules to align jumbo roll delivery with converting line requirements. For retail and distributor programs, we coordinate delivery windows to align with warehouse intake schedules and promotional stock requirements.
